Enjoy a relaxed afternoon of acoustic music in Carlton as award winning songwriter and instrumentalist Louisa Wise launches her latest album All Of These Things. The album was nominated for "Best Folk Album" in the 2020 Music Victoria awards, and the songs are indeed about many things, played on her Appalachian dulcimer, guitar, piano, mouthbow and teapot.

Supporting will be Louisa's daughter Lucy Wise with her delightful and profound music, afterward joining Louisa along with Ruth & Rowena Wise, Mischa Herman, Nick Thorpe & Jim Green.

I am excited to announce a special house concert double bill with me and friends/family along with duo Luke Plumb and Jim Green.   The blurb: Veteran song and tune writer Louisa will perform some of the songs off her present recording project backed up by Nick Thorpe on double bass, along with Luke and Jim as well as Lucy & Rowena Wise and Mischa Herman.   Luke and Jim have collaborated in the bands The Rambling Roses and The Circuit and will join here as a duo for the first time. Jim's great song writing and superb guitar work have featured in many Melbourne bands including the Roses, the Bloomin' Heathers, the Parking Meters and the Jim Green Trio.  Tasmanian Luke of Scotland's Shooglenifty fame has shone in his latest writing, recording and touring projects with The Circuit and more recently with Kate Burke. Nick Thorpe has long contributed spirited vocals and bass to Melbourne bands The Prayerbabies, The Harmaniax Sally Dastey and the Nudgels.   We hope you can come along to this beautiful home in Eltham for some cosy music, food, wine and a wonderful musical community! The Wise Women Mothers Day House Concert

Join Louisa, Ruth and Lucy Wise for an afternoon of delightfully quirky folk songs, heartwarming storytelling and spine-tingling vocal harmonies. Wise Women accompany their songs with fiddle, guitar, ukulele and Appalachian dulcimer, and their performances at festival blackboard stages over the last four years have had a lot of people talking – they have been something of an underground sensation!

This special Mothers Day house concert will feature some songs about parenthood, some songs that Louisa sang to Ruth and Lucy during when they were little, and some original songs and fiddle tunes in between.

With a 'strong yet gentle voice, and an art for weaving beauty and truth into the words of each song, Khristian Mizzi reaches the hearts of his audiences with His performances.

Louisa Wise Originally from Illinois USA, Louisa came from and spawned a musical family (The Wise Family Band in Australia). She has classical training in violin and piano and also has a base in traditional folk song since childhood. She has a large body of original folk songs and tunes inspired by people and stories around her.

Please come along to hear Louisa, Nick and Jim play some of Louisa's songs and tunes ( as well as a few by Jim and Nick and the odd beloved cover. This will be great fun!

Nick has contributed spirited vocals and a mean double bass to Melbourne outfits The PrayerBabies, The Harmaniax, Sally Dasty and Pete Bodin.
