The songs are drawn from over a period of ten years and cover subjects as diverse as riding on a Melbourne tram, flying up the WA coast in a small plane to get to a gig, the art of instrument making, the struggle to learn something new, listening with insomnia for the dawn chorus, relationships and lost loved ones, and an expat's journey to her first homeland. There is also a fiddle piece about creatures named acidians in Sydney Harbour. The beautiful cover painting of flying instruments is by Geoff LeBlanc.
